Joel shoe - Grey

The Joel shoes that I purchased looked great in the box. They felt good on my feet. The problem is the finish. I took the shoes out of their box and wore them to dinner. So I wore them less than five hours. When I wore them the Grey finish cracked and flaked off, where ever the shoes had bent from my normal walking motion. The color even came off the part of the tongue of shoes that was under the shoe strings. The Grey finish on the leather isn't a dye. It seems to be a hard polish. The temperature outside was in the mid eighties when I wore the shoes.
